Long-Term Care Medicaid Application Assistance

After receiving an approval letter on a Medicaid Application we worked on, a client compared the Medicaid Application Process to an IRS audit being conducted by an insurance claims adjuster. I laughed, but she was right. And that's why getting assistance with a Medicaid Application for payment of long-term care costs is so important.

When one applies for Medicaid to help pay for long-term care costs, the government has the right to demand that you provide several years of financial records, including, bank statements, investment account statements, CD opening and closing records, retirement fund records, etc. The list goes on and on. Once the government gets the documents, they audit the documents to determine whether there were any improper transfers.

The government is usually interested in any transfer of assets that exceeds $500.00. And if there were any transfers that the government deems suspicious, you will have to explain the nature and purpose of any expense that they deem suspicious, even if it took place years ago.

That's why it's important to have an advocate assist you with a Medicaid, even if you believe that you already qualify for benefits.

Application Assistance Services

When retained to provide Application Assistance, we will guide you and assist with obtaining the documents necessary to file a Medicaid Application. We will then perform an audit of those documents to ensure that there are no questionable transfers. If there are questionable transfers, we will discuss them with you. Sometimes, prior transfers can significantly complicate when eligibility occurs, especially if the person you transferred the money to no longer has the funds.

Once we are convinced that there are no "red flags", we submit the application with the government agency responsible for considering eligibility. We will then provide additional documents to the government in a timely manner and deal with the case worker on the phone, by email, fax or regular mail. Sometimes, the government requests a face to face meeting, which we will attend on your behalf. Ultimately, we will see the application through to conclusion.

OUR GOAL IN EVERY CASE IS TO OBTAIN APPROVAL. We see it as our duty to act as your advocate with government workers, who are typically overworked, underpaid, and unsupported through no fault of their own.

These overworked government workers will sometimes deny cases simply because they haven't seen documentation that has been provided. We provide a paper trail to help you overcome any assertion that documentation was not provided.

Don't go it alone. Retain Chiumento Selis Dwyer P.L. to assist you with your Medicaid Application for long-term care.
